What You Need To Know About Motorcycle Adventure Boots!

Adventure motorcycle boots are a hybrid of off-road and touring gear, just like everything else in the adventure bike category.

Heavy duty motocross and enduro boots with several durable buckles, extra ankle and shin protection, and reinforced soles for standing on pegs are the inspiration for adventure boots' protective design. As a result, they may be walked in for long periods of time, are more comfortable than a touring boot, and can be worn for covering long distances in the saddle. Therefore, for motorcycle riders who require support, protection, and comfort all in one, adventure boots are the ideal compromise.

It goes without saying that you need a helmet, a jacket, pants, and a good sturdy boot is no expectation for any off-road riding.  Although it has many unique design elements, its primary function is to keep you secure and comfortable.

Adventure Motorcycle Boots vs. Full Motocross Boots:

Generally speaking, there are two designs to choose from when discussing boots for adventure riding: full motocross-style boots and purpose-built adventure motorcycle boots.

Specialised adventure motorcycle boots will offer greater comfort and touring-friendly features than their motocross-style counter parts, but they also won't provide the same level of protection, even though the levels of protection will vary between models, you do give up some of the protection side of motocross boots for the comfort of adventure boots. 

Adventure boots have a slightly different pivot design than a lot of motocross boots do. Obviously, you don’t wear motocross boots for as long a period as you would an adventure boot, as well as tackling much more aggressive terrain so they are made that bit more tight and secure to cater towards this. A shorter alternative in the adventure range are the Adventure Lows boots. These boots are designed to work effectively as road boots with some nice dual-sport features, and a lightweight construction for greater rider agility and bike control. Low cut Adventure boots are very popular, for their comfort, light weight and accessibility. Like the TCX Baja for example, they are waterproof thanks to their dry tech lining that has a T-dry liner and extends to the second buckle. 

Do adventure boots have the same soles as a motocross boot?

They have a different density liner in the middle of the sole to simply make moving about a little bit easier. More flexible but still protective. Additionally, these appear different from, say, a road boot we have that is simply straight and smooth underneath. How come? Obviously, the terrain on which we are riding. You definitely need these grooves to help remove the mud out if you get stuck and gives you traction to simply pedal your bike up a hill if you need to push it up a hill or are struggling with a hill climb.

Adventure Boot vs Enduro Boot:

So what's the difference between, say, an adventure boot and an enduro boot that we have here? And why would I choose an adventure boot on a ride instead of this? Simply put, Comfort is going to be the main benefactor here. 

You're going to want to wear adventure boots for a lot longer than you would enduro boots. 

With all this information, remember that the main purpose of adventure boots is equipped to withstand the rigors of off-road use while remaining comfortable enough to use every day. It wouldn’t hurt to spend a few dollars on a quality adventure boot compared to the amount of money to remain comfortable and protected.
